On 17^th of June Mr. Le Hoang Quan, chairman of the People Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, directed Agriculture and Rural Development department to prepare the temporary regulation in managing the swiftlet farming and planning the swiftlet areas in Ho Chi Minh city until 2020 and to 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City people committee requested to have the swiftlet farming in Can Gio province and not allow farming in new urban areas and city centre. Facilities which are in the inadequate planning area have to be removed before 2015.

Besides, the regulation has to review and evaluate the status of the 402 existing bird houses, to estimate the investment risks and informs the farmers, to concretize the environment protection methods, to prevent the epidemic disease, noise pollution by swiflet and its equipment and so on.

While waiting for the specific guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has to report the People Committee the advisory note in directing the management of swiftlet farming in Ho Chi Minh City before 10 of July.
