According to FTM NEWS, in year 2009, world production of edible birds’ nests (EBN) is about 3,750 tonnes. Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia are the top 3 producers.

Presently, edible bird’s nest producing countries are in South East Asia, with Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia producing 90% of the world production.

The demand of edible bird’s nest has grown at an increasing rate far stripping the current supply. The increasing demand of this edible bird’s nest has reflected in the historical trend of increasing market price of this edible bird’s nest.
